Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the heart of Cebu City at 40 L. Flores Street, Larangan sa Pasil is a culinary gem that offers an authentic taste of Cebuano heritage through its signature dish: larang, a traditional fish stew. This unassuming eatery is a treasure trove for adventurous food lovers seeking to indulge in a rich and smoky flavor profile, crafted from recipes passed down through generations and cooked over firewood to capture its deep, earthy essence.

The charm of Larangan sa Pasil lies not only in its cuisine but also in its humble, no-frills dining atmosphere. Rather than polished ambiance, this place invites you to experience genuine warmth—from the friendly staff to the mingling of locals and visitors sharing in the delight of true Cebuano comfort food. The setting is quaint and semi-enclosed, clean and welcoming, perfectly reflecting the restaurant’s dedication to where it truly matters: the kitchen.

The menu shines with its selection of fresh, locally-sourced fish, including unique options such as pufferfish (fugu), shark, and pakul (a coral reef fish). Each larang offers an exquisite balance of hearty, savory broth infused with authentic, aromatic spices that leave you craving every spoonful. The firewood cooking method adds a subtle smokiness and complexity that elevates the experience, making each bowl a warm embrace of Cebu’s culinary soul.

Customer testimonials echo the restaurant’s reputation. Food enthusiast Heathler -Hitz- Along celebrates it as a “trademark for a real Sugbuanon,” praising its traditional fish stew cooked over firewood as a must-try for food adventurers. Christian Maningo notes both the deliciousness and affordability of the larang here, while Benn Bautista simply calls it “a must visit for food lovers,” applauding it as the best authentic larang in Cebu. Cassandra Girard’s heartfelt review highlights not only the flavor but the welcoming vibe, “staff and fellow customers are very friendly and helpful,” and she fondly remembers the “amazing” soups long after her visit. Meanwhile, Elmer Shox highly recommends the fugu fish larang and the occasional stingray soup for those eager to push culinary boundaries.

For anyone passionate about discovering true local flavors and embracing a culinary adventure, Larangan sa Pasil provides a deeply satisfying and culturally rich experience. Here, every spoonful tells a story of Cebu’s vibrant coastal life and culinary traditions, offering a sensory journey that lingers long after the meal ends.

Amazing! The soups (larang) are delicious, staff and fellow customers are very friendly and helpful. The space is clean even in a semi-enclosed eatery. It's a quaint location, don't come looking for white tablecloth or cushioned seats. The chef and cooks spend their time where it counts, in the kitchen. Still dreaming about it...

A must try for fish lovers. Not for the picky eaters. Also if you were hungry after your drinking session, feel at home to sip a hot bowl of larang with corn grits. The best!

Larangan sa Pasil。
